Book Sale at Woods Hole Public Library

Starts December 2nd...

Book Sale at Woods Hole Public Library, December 2 and following

The Woods Hole Public Library is having a big book sale just in time for holiday shopping, opening December 2 at 10 AM. There will be a wide variety of books for sale, both venerable and very lightly used. A huge new donation of music on CD, literally hundreds, is included in this sale. The music includes sound tracks from films, classical music and jazz, including many collectible jazz vocalists. There are also DVD’s offered for sale.

Most of the books in the sale are donations to the Library specifically for this purpose, but there are also recent discards from the Library’s collection. Weeding is a sad, but necessary part in the life of a library, and this sale will give the public a chance to “save a book.” As always, almost-new books of fiction are in the sale.

The book sale is run by a volunteer committee which spends hours preparing, arranging, and  then keeping the books in order on the shelves and tables during the weeks of the sale. These people, who include two retired librarians,  provide a valuable service for the Library.

Many beautiful large-format books with stunning photography are in the sale, as well as many which celebrate the holidays. All the books and audio-visual materials are very reasonably priced, with a base price of 50 cents for small paper-backs, $1 for large paper-backs, and $2 for hard-backs. Special books may be marked a bit higher.

All are welcome to come and browse and shop. Opening day will see the sale open from 10 AM- 5 PM. After that, the sale is open whenever the Library is open, which is Mondays from Noon-5:30 and 7-9 PM, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3- 5:30; Wednesday from 10 AM – 5:30 and 7-9 PM, and Saturday from Noon-5:30. For more information, call the Library at 508-548-8961 or visit the website www.woodsholepubliclibrary.org.
