From the Truro Police Department:

On Thursday, May 10, 2018 at approximately 5:44 p.m., Officers of the Truro Police Department responded to a residence located on South Pamet Road for a reported breaking and entering.

Upon arrival, investigating officers met with the reporting parties who were waiting outside of the residence for their arrival.  The reporting parties advised investigating officers that the home had been vacant for some time.

The reporting parties advised investigating officers that they came to the residence to check on the fuse box located in the basement. They unlocked the front door, entered the residence, and went directly to the basement to check on the box.

The reporting parties advised investigating officers that while they were in the basement, they heard two suspects running across the floor in a room overhead. They then heard a secondary entrance/exit door open, and reported hearing the suspects run from the residence towards the woods.

The reporting parties advised investigating officers that they exited the basement and went back upstairs to the first floor of the residence. They located two open bottles of Coke that were cold to the touch, empty alcohol nip bottles and an ashtray full of cigarette butts on a coffee on a coffee table in the living room. Several rooms had been ransacked and there was evidence that the residence had been forcibly broken into.

The reporting parties advised investigating officers that they were delayed in calling the Truro Police Department to report the incident, because they had misplaced their cell phone and had trouble locating it.

Through investigation, officers have reason to believe that one of the fleeing suspects might be 19 year old Zachary Enos who has ties to Truro. There is a warrant for the arrest of Enos for Armed Robbery, Injury to Property, and Intimidation of a Witness, stemming from a April 22, 2018 Armed Robbery at the Cape Crossroads Condominium Complex located in Hyannis. (See Barnstable Police Department April 23, 2018 Facebook Post for more information and photograph of Zachary Enos).

Based on the above information, investigating Truro officers established a perimeter and requested mutual aid assistance from the Barnstable County Sheriffs Office K-9 Unit and Criminal Investigations Unit, The Barnstable Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police. An extensive search of the residence and surrounding area conducted.

K-9 track was initiated from the residence to the surrounding woods. Due to the time delay, from when the suspects the residence, to when the incident was reported to the Truro Police, the suspects could not be located. A drone was also utilized during the search.

The incident remains under investigation by the Truro Police Department.

Any information on the whereabouts of Zachary Enos should be reported to the Barnstable Police Department at 508-775-0387 or the Truro Police Department at 508-487-8730.
