Families can make outdoor art in Hidden Hollow...

Visitors have the opportunity to watch artists whose work is included in the Commemorations outdoor art exhibit as they install their pieces, and to interact with them during this fascinating process. Signs with prompting questions for visitors to ask artists will be installed at each art location. In addition, families can make outdoor art together in Hidden Hollow, and visitors of all ages can also dress up as artists. A variety of materials for adults and kids will be set up in two locations around the grounds allowing visitors to create their own outdoor artworks.

Wendell Minor, noted author, illustrator, and subject of the 2018’s special exhibition, Wendell Minor’s America, will also be “in residence” in his replica studio inside the exhibit from 11:00am to 1:00pm during Artists in Action Day. Meet the author and pick his brain about the creative process. While you’re there, enjoy magnetic story-making in the gallery!

All programs are free with museum admission. No advance registration required.
