The John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation for the Arts is accepting scholarship applications

The Trustees of the John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation for the Arts are accepting applications to grant scholarships to Barnstable County residents in their last two years of undergraduate study or, preferably, graduate work in the visual and performing arts.

Applications may be downloaded from the Davenport Companies website www.thedavenportcompanies.com or obtained from the Foundation's office at 20 North Main St., South Yarmouth MA 02664 and must be submitted by July 16, 2018. Personal interviews are an integral part of the scholarship granting process.

All scholarships will be based on need, ability, grades and proven desire in the field of endeavor, be it theatre, music or art. Scholarships are granted on a year to year basis, without commitments for continuous funding.

The John K. & Thirza F. Davenport Foundation was established in 1985. The primary funding for the Foundation has come from family members, Davenport Realty Trust and private gifts. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to return to the Foundation the amounts they were awarded, when reasonably possible, in order to expand its assistance to others in need of scholarship aid.
