Yarmouth Police Statement on Today's Fatal Crash

Motorcycle operator killed in Tuesday afternoon crash...

On Tuesday July 10, 2018 at approximately 4:12PM, the Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to a 911 report of a crash involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle in the area of Buck Island Road and Townbrook Road in West Yarmouth.

Yarmouth Police Officers arrived on scene and immediately secured the area and diverted the heavy summertime traffic.

Tragically, a male operator of a motorcycle was found deceased at the scene.

The operator of the motor vehicle is being cooperative and is being interviewed at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.

Yarmouth Police Officers are actively investigating the fatal crash with the assistance of the Yarmouth Police Detective Division, the Cape Cod Regional Crash Reconstruction Team, and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.

The Yarmouth Police Department will be deploying a Drone as part of the crash reconstruction process.

Traffic in the area is being diverted and is expected to be for an extended period of time.

No names or additional information regarding this crash will be available from the Yarmouth Police Department until tomorrow morning at 9:00AM.
