Juvenile in July 10th Sandwich Crash Has Died

SUV had crashed into tree leaving three injured, one critically...

Sandwich Police report that a juvenile involved in a July 10th crash has died.  The child was one of three injured when an SUV went off the road and crashed into a tree at Farmersville Road and Cotuit Road at 12:52 a.m.

Police have not released the name of the deceased juvenile.  The investigation into the crash continues.

The Sandwich Police Department is investigating a single vehicle accident resulting in serious injuries.

The Sandwich Police Department responded to Farmersville Rd and Cotuit Rd for a report of a single motor vehicle accident at approximately 12:52am. A blue Kia Sorrento ran off the road and into a tree. Upon police arrival, the driver, a 40 year old female from Cotuit, as well as two juveniles, were trapped inside the vehicle. The Sandwich Fire Department also responded. The female driver was transported to South Shore Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. One juvenile was taken by MedFlight to Mass General and was in critical condition. The second juvenile was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. CIO Wallace from the Barnstable County Sherriff’s Department responded and processed the scene. Accident Reconstructionist Officer Grigorenko and Officer Leslie processed the scene.

At this time, the accident is currently under investigation by Officer Kent.
