From the Provincetown Police Department:
A call about a child in the water yesterday afternoon brought a response from Provincetown Police, Fire, Harbormaster and the US Coast Guard….
3 people total ended up being rescued in the water at the West End Rotary Breakwater.
First responders rushed to the scene shortly before 1pm yesterday after receiving reports of a child falling in the water while walking on the breakwater in an area where there is a dip in the path leading out to Long Point.
2 adults went in after the child which resulted in 3 ending up in the water on the inside of the breakwater in the marsh area, carried by the incoming tide.
The tide was high enough that the pontoon shuttle boat from Flyer’s Boat Yard was able to get through the dip and rescue everyone. They were brought to shore and reunited with remaining family members.
EMS reports the child was treated for some scrapes but otherwise there were no injuries.
