"Closing Statement" from County Commissioner Ron Beaty

Candidate for Republican 5th Barnstable District State Representative.
County Commissioner and State Rep. Candidate Ron Beaty

We invited the two Republican candidates in the September 4th Primary for the 5th District State Representative seat to submit "Closing Statements".  Below is the statement by County Commissioner Ron Beaty, published verbatim:

I am a 57 year old native-born Cape Codder, who has been married for nearly 25 years to my wonderful wife, Chanda.

Relative to career, I have over 20 years experience in real estate management, and am a licensed real estate broker.

As for education, I have earned a Master of Science Degree in Administrative Studies from Boston College as well as a Master of Education Degeee from Lesley University.

Regarding the political and community realm, in 2016 I won election as a Barnstable County Commissioner representing 215,000 residents of Cape Cod.

In 2014, I was the Republican Nominee for Cape & Islands State Senator. I am a long-time Regional Community Activist on issues related to County Government, Cape Cod Commission, Regional wastewater problems. county budget, County restructuring proposals, and much more.

Additionally, I have been a local and regional government watchdog and open meeting law advocate.

Unlike my opponent, and as the only true Republican 5th District Barnstable District  State Representative Candidate, I stand for: Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility, Lower Taxes, Transparency and Accountability, Protecting the Public Interest, Individual Liberty, and adherence to the U. S. Constitution.

I am a Conservative, staunchly Pro-Trump and Pro-Life Candidate who is running for this office because time and again my incumbent September 4th GOP Primary Election opponent has clearly shown himself to be a liberal Democrat masquerading as a Republican. Enough is enough!

Among my priorities when elected, I shall seek to mitigate the Cape Cod Canal Bridge traffic problems, ban Sanctuary Cities in Massachusetts, push for Term Limits, increase appropriate economic development opportunities in the District, and establish term limits and voter ID requirements, protect 2nd Amendment Rights by sponsoring legislation to Massachusetts the Commonwealth a Constitutional Carry State, along with many other important issues as well.

I have earned the endorsement of the Massachusetts Republican Assembly, the Bourse Republican Town Committee, and the Wareham Republican Town Committee.

I have officially been given an “A Rating” by the NRA Political Victory Fund and  a 100% Rating by the Gun Owners Action League. Clearly I am the 2nd Amendment Rights Candidate and advocate in this race.

I have also been provided the highest possible rating by Mass Citizens for Life.

Randy Hunt is on record with making several Anti-2nd Amendment votes, like voting in favor of the ban on bump stocks & in favor of the unreasonable Red Flag ERPO Gun Confiscation Legislation.

Also, despite signing 2 TAXPAYER PROTECTION PLEDGES (one for Citizens for Limited Taxation & one for Americans for Tax Reform) promising to oppose all new taxes and tax increases, he lied and has supported new taxes during the past year (like the potential 12% tax on short-term rentals of private homes, the new $2.00 tax on car rental taxes, as well as his co-sponsorship of a Registry of Deeds Community Preservation surtax increase, among others).

He has also failed to address the issue of school safety in manner that is remotely adequate, and utterly ignores the excessively high property taxes residents are forced to pay in his District! (I advocate the NRA  National School Shield Program.)

Additionally, his signature legislation for a deposit on nip bottles (which has not passed as of yet) is really just “feel good legislation” which does nothing to address alcohol abuse, likely will NOT significantly impact the problem of littering, and is really just another NEW TAX disguised as a deposit paid by consumers.

Despite promising supporters to the contrary, he instead misled them and voted in favor of the 2016 “Bathroom Bill” which allows perverts to use women’s bathrooms and locker rooms.

Also, the issue of heavy traffic congestion at the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges has been allowed to completely languish during his entire 8 year tenure in office! He will claim to have been working on it, but after 8 years, traffic has gotten worse!

Hunt also outrageously voted AGAINST Rep. Jim Lyons Budget Amendment to all our local law enforcement officers to assist federal authorities to apprehend, arrest and detain criminal illegal aliens!

Finally, Hunt really has NOT achieved anything whatsoever of significance for his constituents while in office. He collects a healthy paycheck in the mid-90 thousands and really just wants to hold onto the position so he can obtain the required ten years necessary to get a lucrative state pension to augment his retirement!

Again, Randy Hunt is. Democrat masquerading as a Republican! His Beacon Hill attitude of entitlement needs to be brought to an end via Term Limits, in this case by voting him out of office.

Of final note, it can be safely stated that as a Barnstable County Commissioner, I have a very good record of bringing fiscal responsibility and increased efficiency to Barnstable County Government .

Randy Hunt could not even competently get the County’s early retirement legislation passed. This further exemplifies just how ineffective he has become as a state Legislator.

It is worth mentioning that a formal debate between me and Randy Hunt was scheduled for August 29th by WXTK Radio, however, Mr. Hunt declined to participate for no particular reason.
