Wellfleet Police Investigating Thefts from Cars Parked at Beaches

B&E's to vehicles parked at remote beach lots...

From the Wellfleet Police Department:

The Wellfleet Police Department is investigating reports involving the breaking and entering into unattended vehicles while they are parked at remote beach parking lots. The incidents in Wellfleet occurred at the parking lot of the White Cedar Swamp Trail (Marconi area) on November 6th and Marconi Beach parking lots on November 7th. One incident occurred during the daytime, the other at night.

The suspect(s) smashed the vehicle’s windows and stole purses, wallets and any items they deemed valuable, that were in plain sight. Similar incidents have occurred in surrounding towns including Brewster and Dennis.

No vehicle or suspect descriptions are available at this time.

The Wellfleet Police Department urges citizens to stay aware of their surroundings, while parked at beach lots and not to leave any valuables visible within their vehicles.
