Wareham Police Make Multiple Arrests in Recent Days

On Wednesday, February 6 at about 11:15 a.m., Wareham Police officers responded to Cape Cod Gas for the report of a male who attempted to pass a counterfeit bill to purchase cigarettes, however it was rejected by the clerk. Officers Matthew Donovan and Garrett Smith located the male a short time later and placed him in custody. Michael Pina, 33, of no certain address, was arrested and charged with uttering a counterfeit note. During the course of this investigation, Teena Hill, 46, of no certain address was also placed under arrest for having an unrelated default warrant.

On Friday, February 8, at about 11:40 a.m. Officers Charles Pillsbury and Steve Joy arrested Allen Burr, 55, of East Wareham, on Cranberry Highway. Mr. Burr had four warrants for his arrest.

At 3:15 p.m. Officers Pillsbury and Garrett Smith arrested Casey Pena, 36, of no certain address, at the Silver Lake Motel. He was arrested on three warrants.

On Sunday, February 10, at 2:10 a.m. Officer Robert McLain observed a male operating an ATV with no helmet on Fearing Hill Road. Officer McLain attempted to stop the quad, however it sped up, turning onto Burfield Drive. The male stopped in a backyard and started to run from the area, before being ordered to stop by the officer. The male was placed under arrest as it was determined he had no driver’s license. Erique Gomes, 26, of Wareham, is charged with, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating uninsured motor vehicle, disorderly conduct , disturbing the peace and failure to stop for police.

Later on Sunday, at 10:15 p.m. Officers Eric Machado and Charles Pillsbury arrested Joshua Hopkins, 27, of Carver, for operating under the influence of liquor (2nd offense) and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Wareham police had received a call about a vehicle operating erratically in the area. The officers located the vehicle, observed operation and stopped him. After an on scene investigation the officers believed Mr. Hopkins was impaired and made the arrest.

On Monday, at 12:45 a.m., Casey Harris, 27, of Wareham, was arrested by Officer Stephen Harrison, after stopping a car on Minot Avenue. Mr. Harris was a passenger in the car and Officer Harrison was aware of a warrant for his arrest.

A short while later at 2:00 a.m. Officer Calib Larue, arrested Landyn Matthews, 22, of Fairhaven. Mr. Matthews was arrested on a warrant following a motor vehicle stop on Cranberry Highway.
