From the Falmouth Fire/Rescue Department:

At approximately 1600 hrs this afternoon, FFRD units along with the Department dive team were dispatched to Thomas Landers Rd for a report of a person through the ice.

A 21 year old male was walking across Shallow Pond, when he fell through. Fortunately, the pond lived up to its name and the subject only went in waist deep.

He was subsequently assisted into a canoe by his brother and brought to shore. He was evaluated by EMS at the scene.

Fortunately, this call had a happy ending. It could have ended in tragedy. Please use extreme caution on any frozen body of water.
