DETAIL OFFICERS ASSIST IN ARRESTING SUSPECTED FELON

Brewster, MA - On Monday April 8, 2019 at approximately 7:30 am Brewster Police were made aware of a domestic disturbance involving a violent assault.

A short time later officers working the National Grid pipeline project traffic detail in the area of Stonybrook Road observed a male subject fitting the description of the perpetrator. Detail officers confirmed his identity and quickly moved in and placed the suspect into custody without further incident. The subject was later transported to Orleans District Court and arraigned on several charges.

The Brewster Police commend the detail officers for their vigilance while working a private detail that resulted in the arrest of a violent offender; without a doubt their quick action reduced the need for a prolonged search for the suspect.

The Brewster Police were assisted by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s K9 unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigations. As a result of the requirements of the domestic violence law we cannot comment further on this investigation. We urge all victims of domestic violence to contact the police as soon as possible.
