Barnstable Police Officer and Citizen Pull Woman from Burning Car

Citizen flagged down Barnstable Police Sergeant at crash scene...

A woman may owe her life to a Barnstable Police Sergeant and a civilian good Samaritan after her car flipped and caught fire Thursday morning in Marstons Mills.  

The crash happened on Osterville-West Barnstable Road near Woodside Road.  A citizen at the scene flagged down Barnstable Police Sergeant Thomas Twomey as his cruiser approached the crash scene.  

Sergeant Twomey and the citizen pulled the female driver out of the vehicle as flames came from the front of the vehicle.  The victim reportedly suffer a head laceration but was conscious and speaking.  She was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation.
