Kayaker in Distress Aided Off Falmouth

Male adrift was being swept into Nantucket Sound

From the Falmouth Department of Marine and Environment:

At 12:45 pm on May 21, 2019, a report was taken of an individual who was kayaking in distress in the area of Nobska Beach, Falmouth MA.

A number of maritime agencies responded including Falmouth Marine and Environmental Services Patrol Boat 104, Barnstable County Sherriff’s Patrol Boat S-300, and the United States Coast Guard.

A male was discovered adrift, being swept into Nantucket Sound. The man had been in the water for approximately a half hour.

The victim, a 33 year old male from Forestdale, was pulled on board by rescue personnel and was taken to Falmouth Harbor and treated by Falmouth Fire Rescue Department.

The case remains under investigation.
