Three beaches on the Outer Cape were closed for swimming on Saturday - one twice - because of sightings of great white sharks.

Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro was closed twice - once at 1:30 p.m. and again at 3 p.m.  Coast Guard Beach was closed at 1:30 p.m.  Each Truro closure was for one hour.

Nauset Beach was closed for an hour at 2:45 p.m. following a confirmed shark sighting.

Last year two men were attacked - one fatally - by sharks off Outer Cape Beaches.
