Cape & Islands State Senator Julian Cyr

From State Senator Julian Cyr:

Just wrapped up another Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Council conference call.

A regional shelter has opened at Dennis Yarmouth High School (210 Station Ave, Yarmouth). Open now. Transportation can be arranged if needed. All are welcome of all ages. Pets welcome. Medical personnel on site, as well as plenty of volunteers, staff, and public safety personnel.

Eversource will have over 500 crews on Cape Cod by tomorrow. They’re bringing in crews from all across New England. Currently 40-50k without power on the Cape. Eversource is currently prioritizing road clearing, shutting off live lines in streets. No estimates yet on power restoration timeline.
