67 Turtles Rescued in Barnstable Over Past Few Days

Natural Resources staff, volunteers earn kudos...

From the Town of Barnstable:

Over that past few days, Natural Resources staff and volunteers have rescued 67 turtles (62 Kemp's Ridley, 1 Green, and 4 Loggerheads)!

The winds have been howling out of the northeast which has been blowing them onto Sandy Neck and into Barnstable Harbor.

At this point the winds have died down and we are not expecting any more turtles in the next few days.

Most of the rescued turtles have been alive and in good shape!

Kudos to our Natural Resources and volunteers on their efforts!
