Sandwich Fire Department Responds to Basement Fire

From the Sandwich Fire Department (verbatim):

SANDWICH — On February 5, 2020 at 6:03pm the Sandwich Fire Department responded to a reported building fire at 69 Dillingham Avenue. On arrival units found a fire in the basement. A working fire assignment was requested bringing an Engine and Chief from the Bourne Fire Department to the scene. The fire was extinguished by crews within 20 minutes and no injuries were reported. The fire damage was contained to the basement area of the home and the rear back deck.

The home occupants were evaluated for smoke inhalation and refused transport to the hospital. A total of 23 firefighters assisted in extinguishing the fire. Joint Base Cape Cod, Mashpee and West Barnstable Fire Departments provided station coverage during the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
