Rep. Whelan Announces $240,000 Seaport Economic Council Grant for Dennis

This is in addition to another $100,000 grant the town recently received...

Boston, MA - Representative Tim Whelan (R-Brewster) has announced that the Town of Dennis will receive a Seaport Economic Council, Supportive Coastal infrastructure Grant in the amount of $240,000.  Funds realized from this grant will support the Sesuit Harbor Municipal Marina Renovation Project- Phase One design, engineering, permitting and procurement of goods and services.  These funds are in addition to a $100,000 state grant the Town of Dennis received several months ago to help fund dredging of Sesuit Harbor.

“Sesuit Harbor is a jewel in the Mid Cape region and is a hub for tourism, commercial and recreational boating, charter fishing, and other important commerce", Rep. Whelan stated.  "We are very grateful to the Seaport Economic Council and Lt. Governor Polito for their commitment to coastal communities and supporting important works like the renovations of the Sesuit Harbor Municipal Marina."

The Seaport Economic Council is chaired by Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito and helps coastal communities develop and improve local assets to facilitate economic growth.  The Seaport Council serves all 78 of Massachusetts' diverse coastal communities and helps each to use their unique economic assets to grow the economy and unlock job creation.
