Black Hawks Down!

Boston 2, Chicago 0; Doc Rivers To Be Traded? Cape League...

The Boston Bruins seized a 2-1 lead the Stanley Cup finals with a 2-0 shutout of the Chicago Black Hawks. The victory puts Boston just 2 wins away from raising Lord Stanley's cup another time.

Daniel Paille and Patrice Bergeron each had 2nd period goals to pace Boston, and goaltender Tuukka Rask laid down the shutout. Boston's penalty killers worked off several penalties (they're up to 27 straight penalties killed, and got a well-deserved standing ovation in the 3rd period), and that was pretty much all she wrote for the City Of Slumped Shoulders.

Chicago had blown their home ice advantage, and came out determined to regain it. They were checking hard and their defensemen were taking chances offensively... which gave Boston several breakaways. While those didn't pan out for the Bs, they got their points in the 2nd.

Game 4 is Wednesday night at 8 PM.

Doc Rivers Trade Imminent?

Glenn "Doc" Rivers has NBA career averages of 11 points and 5.7 assists per game. Trading for him would be a smart move.... if he didn't retire as a player in 1995. He is presently the coach of the Boston Celtics.

That doesn't stop the Los Angeles Clippers from trying to trade for him, though. They also want surefire Hall Of Famer Kevin Garnett. The Clippers and the Celtics are currently trying to hammer out the small print of a deal.

Boston looks to get younger in this trade. They will get center DeAndre Jordan, with Caron Butler or the talented Eric Bledsoe as a sweetener. Boston will give up KG, Doc, and either Jason Terry or Courtney Lee.
