Albert E. Grindley, 87, of Sandwich, passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on January 12, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Nancy Grindley and the son of the late Arthur and Anna Grindley. Albert graduated from Bronxville public schools. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his military career he attended Columbia University and worked as an insurance executive for many years until his retirement. He was an avid antique collector and also loved to collect old bicycles, fix them up and donate to children. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his loving wife Nancy of 22 years, Albert is survived by 4 children, Elyse Scully and husband Kevin of Naples, FL, Alison Laccetti and husband Anthony of Cape Coral, FL, Elizabeth Herten of Danbury, CT, Albert Grindley Jr. and wife Darla of Cape Coral, FL, 9 grandchildren, Christopher and Kathleen Scully, Adrienne Rodeghero, Anthony Laccetti, Russell and Julia Herten, Summer Brandt, Breeana Radke and Garrett Radke, 4 great grandchildren, Luca, Olivia, Zoe and Anthony. He is predeceased by his brother Frank Grindley.
A service and burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MSPCA Cape Cod 1577 Falmouth Rd. Centerville, MA 02632.
