Janice Lillian (Boucher) Gilmore, 80, passed away on September 7, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Lester G. Gilmore.
Born in Worcester, she was a graduate of Commerce High School. Following High School, she worked as a receptionist at Worcester City Hall. Her secretarial career began at Johnson Steel & Wire in Worcester and continued at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the Hematology Lab and for the Director of Nursing at St. Vincent’s.
She met her husband at Lakeside Ballroom in Worcester. They moved to West Yarmouth 30 years ago and she worked as a secretary for Big Brothers and Sisters for 13 years. She completed her working career at Mayflower Place in West Yarmouth as a receptionist for 7 years.
In addition to her husband she leaves a daughter Diane Karakla and her husband John of Phoenix, MD., and a son David Gilmore and his wife Janet of Glastonbury, CT. She also leaves two grandchildren, Jillian Guerrette and Ayla Karakla, as well as a brother Leo M. Boucher and his wife Charlotte.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday September 10, from 4 -7 pm at Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Dr., South Yarmouth. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday September 11, at 10am at Saint Francis Xavier Church, South St., Hyannis. Burial will follow at Chandler Gray Cemetery, West Yarmouth.
