Thomas Snelders of Bridgewater died January 10, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Raynham at the age of 95. Tom was born in Canton, MA son of the late Helen (Brown) and John Snelders. Mr. Snelders was raised and educated in Dorchester, and was a letter carrier for the United States Post Office and retired at the age of 57. Tom was an Army Veteran of WW II - military police who was chosen to escort Queen Wilhelmina of Holland into exile during the war.
Husband of the late Catherine (Cavanaugh) Snelders and Mary (Moriarty). Father of Herk and Joanne of Rockland, AnnMarie Nocera of Carver, Cathy and Bob Ferretti of Bourne, MaryBeth and Greg O'Donnell of Bridgewater. The late Thomas and Judith Snelders, and the late Jean and Jerry Guarino. Brother of The late John Snelders, late Josephine McLean and late Helen Feeney. Tom is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews and the beloved Pero family.
Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home 98 Bedford Street Bridgewater Friday, January 15th at 9:00am.
Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10:00am.
Visiting hours Thursday, January 14th from 5-8pm.
Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:15pm .
